Activities at school / community centre

Children over the age of eight are permitted to return to school to engage in extra curricular activities, escort themselves from school to the club after such an activity, or go to the community centre to play tennis, providing PopSOC has received written parental consent. However, parents must understand that once their child has left the club they are no longer PopSOC’s responsibility; they are the responsibility of the parent/carer and/or the organiser of the club/extra curricular activity that they are attending.

PopSOC requires parents to write to the Manager with full details for all such arrangements, including the time the children may leave the club and the time they should be expected back. If the child will be returning to the club, the parents should also include a contact name and telephone number for the adult responsible for the child whilst they are away from the club’s premises. Any such arrangement is made at the discretion of the Manager and Management Committee and permission may depend on the child’s age, emotional maturity and experience.

Staff will drop off and collect children from clubs/activities unless told otherwise by parent/carer. There is also another form aimed at children over 8 years old, that allows them to walk to/from an off-site club activity. This can be obtained upon request from Parent/Carer.
